Biological Flow: A Conference to Celebrate the 70th Birthday of Prof. Tim Pedley FRS
A Celebration
Although it might be hard to believe, Tim Pedley (TJP) was 70 on 23 March 2012. A number of his former students decided that a celebration of this event would be a good reason to bring together leading figures in
biological and biomedical fluid mechanics for a two-day
conference that would address recent research breakthroughs across the
discipline.
Hence on
Monday 2 April 2012 and Tuesday 3 April 2012
there was a
two-day meeting
on biological and biomedical
fluid mechanics in Cambridge.
OutlineThere was a balanced (and exhausting?) programme of 47 talks and 11 poster contributions. As well as presentations from many established international researchers, there were also contributions from early-career researchers. On the evening of Monday 2 April 2012 there was a "Birthday Dinner" in Gonville & Caius College to celebrate Tim's 70th Birthday. Venue
The
meeting took place within the Centre for Mathematical Sciences
(DAMTP, University of Cambridge), where morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea were available. Accommodation
for delegates was in student rooms in Gonville &
Caius College.
